# Birthdays & Important Dates

One common use case of Mogul is to remember Birthdays and other important dates about people. WIth Mogul's custom fields feature, we can do exactly that!

First, add a custom field of type "Important Date" in the [Custom Field Editor](https://app.mogulnetworking.com/account/editor/people) and name it Birthday.

You'll notice that for Important Dates, you have the ability to turn on notifications for the event. If you have email notifications enabled, you'll receive notifications via email. If you have iOS notifications, you'll receive those as well.

On the day of events, you'll see a new "Important Events" section in the Reminders page that shows you the important events for that day.

{% hint style="info" %}
Important Events do not show up on the iOS app, but this is currently being developed and should be added soon
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://resources.mogulnetworking.com/features/birthdays-and-important-dates.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
